If you’re in Destin on a summer evening and hear a boom over the water, it’s not a storm — it’s HarborWalk Village’s fireworks, one of the most reliable free things to do on the Destin Harbor all season long.
The 2026 schedule
Through the busiest part of summer 2026, HarborWalk Village has run fireworks most Monday and Thursday nights at 9 p.m., plus the City of Destin’s larger show on the Fourth of July. The cadence tends to thin out toward late August, then the schedule typically shifts to Saturday nights at 8 p.m. in October, with a Halloween-weekend show and a finale after the Harbor’s Lighted Boat Parade in December. Because shows can move for weather, it’s worth checking HarborWalk Village’s own calendar for the current week before you plan around it.
Best places to watch
Most visitors watch from the HarborWalk Village boardwalk itself, which gets a good, close view but also a crowd. The quieter option is watching from the water — anchored boats scattered across the harbor get an unobstructed view without the foot traffic.
Timing a trip around it
A lot of our guests time an afternoon Crab Island trip to head back in through the pass right around sunset, which puts them on the water in the harbor just as the fireworks start — no extra booking required, just good timing on the return. Ask us about scheduling your trip around a fireworks night.
